Stenotaphrum is a genus of grasses in the family (biology)|family Poaceae. It contains are mere handful of species that are distributed almost world-wide. Most species are found only in the Old World tropics however. The name is derived from the Greek words στενός (stenos), meaning "narrow", and τάϕρος (taphros), meaning "trench."
